Our app is available internationally and this Privacy Policy applies to all users regardless of location.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use Larder:

Account information — your name, email address, and password when you register.
Profile information — dietary preferences, household size, and cuisine preferences you choose to provide.
Pantry data — food items, quantities, expiry dates and any barcodes you scan.
Usage data — how you interact with the app, features you use, recipes you save or cook.
Device information — device type, operating system, app version, and unique device identifiers.
Location data — approximate location only if you grant permission, used to surface relevant local shopping options.

We do not collect payment information directly. Any in-app purchases are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store under their respective privacy policies.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Provide, maintain and improve the Larder app and its features.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Where applicable under relevant data protection law (including the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation for users in the European Economic Area), we process your data on the following bases:

Contract performance — processing necessary to provide you with the Larder service.
Legitimate interests — improving our app, preventing fraud, and ensuring security.
Consent — for optional features such as location access and marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Legal obligation — where we are required to process data to comply with applicable law.

5. Data Sharing

We may share your information with:

Service providers — trusted third-party providers who help us operate Larder (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics, push notifications). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may not use it for their own purposes.
Inari AI processing — anonymised and aggregated pantry and preference data may be used to improve AI model accuracy.
Legal authorities — where required by law, court order, or regulation, including UAE authorities where legally mandated.
Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such change.

We do not share your personal data with advertisers.

6. International Data Transfers

Larder operates from the UAE and uses cloud infrastructure that may process data in multiple countries. Where your data is transferred outside your home country, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable law, including standard contractual clauses where required under GDPR for EEA users.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@mylarder.co. We will respond within 30 days. UAE residents may also lodge complaints with the UAE Data Office.

9. Cookies & Tracking
