Please read these Terms carefully before using Larder. They explain your rights, our responsibilities, and the rules that keep the app fair and safe for everyone.

1. About These Terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Larder mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). By downloading, installing or using Larder, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Larder is operated from the United Arab Emirates. These Terms are governed by the laws of the UAE, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.

2. Eligibility

To use Larder, you must:

Be at least 18 years of age, or at least 13 years of age with verified parental or guardian consent.
In the UAE, comply with all applicable local laws regarding the use of digital services.
Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Not be prohibited from using the Service under the laws of your country of residence.

By using Larder, you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Your Account

When you create a Larder account, you agree to:

Provide accurate, current and complete information during registration.
Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with any third party.
Notify us immediately at support@mylarder.co if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.

4. Use of the Service

You may use Larder only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or regulation.
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or extract the source code of the app.
Scrape, crawl or systematically extract data from the Service.
Introduce malware, viruses or any harmful code.
Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
Use the Service to transmit unsolicited communications or spam.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable or impair it.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these restrictions.

5. Inari — AI Assistant

Larder includes Inari, an AI-powered kitchen assistant that provides recipe suggestions, pantry insights and meal planning recommendations. By using Inari, you acknowledge and agree that:

Inari's suggestions are generated by AI and are for informational and convenience purposes only.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of any recipe, nutritional information or dietary advice provided by Inari.
Inari's suggestions should not be treated as professional nutritional, medical or dietary advice. Always consult a qualified professional for specific dietary or health needs.
Inari learns from your in-app behaviour to improve its suggestions. This data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We are not liable for any adverse outcomes arising from following Inari's suggestions, including allergic reactions, dietary issues or food safety incidents.

6. User Content

Larder allows you to input content including pantry items, recipes, notes and meal plans ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant Larder a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store and process that content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

You are solely responsible for your User Content. You agree not to submit content that:

Is false, misleading or deceptive.
Infringes any third-party intellectual property rights.
Contains personal data of third parties without their consent.
Is harmful, abusive, defamatory or otherwise objectionable.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, designs, logos, trademarks and software comprising the Larder Service (excluding User Content) are owned by or licensed to Larder and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

"Larder", "Inari" and associated logos are trademarks of Larder. You may not use them without our express written permission.

8. Third-Party Services

Larder may integrate with or link to third-party services including but not limited to grocery delivery platforms, barcode databases and analytics providers. These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, practices or availability of any third-party service.

Any transactions you enter into with third parties through or in connection with the Service are solely between you and that third party. We are not a party to such transactions and accept no liability in connection with them.

9. Subscriptions & Payments

Larder is free to download. Certain premium features may be available via a paid subscription ("Larder Pro"). If you subscribe to Larder Pro:

Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
All billing is handled by Apple or Google under their respective terms. We do not process or store your payment details.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a subscription period, except where required by applicable law.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure.
Any defects will be corrected.
The Service or its servers are free of viruses or harmful components.
The information provided through the Service (including nutritional data and recipe content) is accurate, complete or up to date.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Larder and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or AED 100 (approximately USD 27), whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Larder and its team from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:

Your use of the Service.
Your violation of these Terms.
Your User Content.
Your violation of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

You may stop using Larder and delete your account at any time through the app settings.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, applicable law, or if we discontinue the Service.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law) will continue to apply.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, specifically the laws of the Emirate of Dubai.

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

If you are a consumer resident in the EU or UK, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

EU residents may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the app or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

16. General

Entire agreement — these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Larder regarding the Service.
Severability — if any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
No waiver — our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment — you may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights to a successor in the event of a merger or acquisition.
Language — these Terms are written in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.
